PRINCELET STREET

From the very first moment I moved to London (nearly four years soon) it was a small street parallel the one I used to live in East London that really captivated me (and still does), Princelet Street.
Iused to walked down this street everyday on my way to work for more than two years and when I didn´t have to work I just enjoyed walking by. If someday I am going to buy a house in London I would love buy it here (I better start saving as the houses here worth around £2million).
When I decided to write about it and I started the research I found out fascinating things :)
Princelet Street was built between the late 17th and early 18th century as a shelter to the Huguenots or French Calvinists who scaped to the UK from the persecution of Catholic France during that period. Many of them were weavers and it was here the Huguenots set up here their weaving looms becoming Princelet Street one of the most prosperous on account of the silk industry. By the end of 19th century Huguenots were nearly disappeared as they assimilated with the local population and it was then when another torrent of refugges arrived to take their place escaping from the persecution. And many of the jewish of East London are direct descendants.
I cannot help being in love with this gorgeous street in the heart of Spitalfield and since I knew a little bit about its hitory, even more.
So if you are around and want to enjoy part of history and beauty, just walk by ;)
Love, Daniel

Love, Daniel.

This is my favourite :)
